Un soir pluvieux de 1987, à Paris. La grande actrice Jacqueline Maillan décide de se donner la mort. Ne pouvant se résoudre au déclin inexorable de sa carrière, cette reine du boulevard nous convie à ses adieux comme une dernière mise en scène d'elle-même. Cependant, un coup de théâtre vient chambouler son dessein funeste : on lui propose un grand rôle. Mais il est trop tard, un cocktail de barbituriques coule déjà dans ses veines.

Après La Côte d’Azur et Le Père Noël est une benne à ordures, tous deux créés au POCHE/GVE, le trio formé par l’actrice Rébecca Balestra, la metteuse en scène Manon Krüttli et le dramaturge Guillaume Poix conçoit ici un hommage à l’icône du théâtre de boulevard Jacqueline Maillan en forme de rêverie hallucinée sur le refus de la mort, la solitude et le désir de gloire.
