À la manière d'un conte, Joël Pommerat imagine la rencontre de deux très jeunes filles, obligées de déjouer les lois du monde réel et de s’affranchir de celles des adultes pour vivre leur pacte d’amitié qu'elles veulent indestructible. La question serait : quels pouvoirs de l’enfance opposer à l’autorité de la parole des adultes ?
Dans une forme qui rapprocherait théâtre et roman, Joël Pommerat fait le récit d’évènements graves et naïfs où le surnaturel serait pour ses personnages le seul moyen d'affronter des réalités inconcevables.
